Injuries Suffered by AJ Lee Keeping Her Away from WWE

Overview of AJ Lee’s Career and Retirement AJ Lee, a prominent WWE performer, retired from in-ring competition in 2015 after a successful career that included three Divas Championship reigns.

Nature of the Injury - The most significant injury that AJ Lee suffered was a severe neck injury. This injury occurred during a match against Paige, where she mistimed a move and landed on the top of her head.

This incident led to immediate concerns about her ability to feel her legs, which was a frightening experience for her.

Details of the Neck Injury Following the incident, medical evaluations revealed that AJ had three compacted discs in her cervical spine. This condition was compressing nerves and causing numbness in her hands.

Treatment Options and Decision - AJ Lee was presented with two options for treatment: undergo surgery to alleviate the pain or pursue rehabilitation. She opted for rehabilitation but continued to wrestle while managing her condition as champion.

Despite this choice, she reported ongoing issues with numbness in her hands, indicating that the injury had not fully healed.

Current Status and Future Plans - As of now, AJ Lee has expressed that she is committed to maintaining her health by avoiding wrestling altogether. She has stated that not wrestling is key to keeping her body feeling great moving forward.

AJ Lee’s decision to stay away from WWE is primarily due to the serious neck injury she sustained during her final year as an active wrestler, which resulted in compressed discs affecting nerve function and causing persistent numbness.
