CM Punk took shots at Hulk Hogan in an interview with Jacky Redmound on the January 6, 2025, episode of WWE RAW. Punk’s heated reflections about Hogan on the brought back to life a feud that has lasted for decades between these two wrestling legends. Punk made it clear he wants “to kill Hulkamania,” which got people talking about their rocky history.

The leader of nWo, who was loved by numerous, has seen his creadibilility take a dive because of dishonors. The Second City Saint has always been open about his dislike for Hogan. The wrestling fans are equally divided on where to place the blame. While some agree with Punk, others refuse to listen to modern-day Hogan critics and appreciate his contributions.

The Hulkster himself admitted on The Steve Austin Show in 2019 that he had heat with Punk over a minor incident on WWE RAW. As per the HOF, on RAW’S 15th anniversary, he saw CM Punk but did not say hello as he didn’t know him. This caused tension between the two.

After CM Punk’s violent promo on Hulk Hogan, rumors swirled about him going off- script and creating backstage tension. However, a new report has debunked these claims, clarifying that the segment was well received backstage.

As per reports from Fightful Select, CM Punk’s promo on Hulk Hogan caused no backstage heat. While some of Punk’s commentary were reportedly unscripted, no one took offense. As per the report, the overall response confidentially was unconcerned, with numerous laughing it off. This indicates that Punk’s reflections were well- entered and added to the drama without crossing any major boundaries.

CM Punk cut one of his most vicious promos after he appeared on the January 20, 2025 episode of WWE Raw. In the promo, he addressed some of the biggest stars in WWE, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, and Sami Zayn. Punk, who until then had appeared confident about his involvement in the Royal Rumble, remarked,

“John Cena, I can’t see John Cena throwing me over the top rope on February 1st.”

He also took a shot at Roman Reigns, saying that Reigns needed his help to handle his business, and dismissed Sami Zayn, saying,

“Don’t ask me about Sami Zayn — he’s not on my level.”

Speaking aside Drew McIntyre, Punk said,

“I put Drew McIntyre in the dirt.”

These reflections have boosted the expectation for the Royal Rumble, setting the stage for implicit competitions between Punk and the stars he mentioned.
