WWE RAW Results And Highlights:

Jey Uso Declares War, Gunther Fires Back

Jey Uso received a warm reception from the crowd as he headed to the ring to open this week’s WWE RAW on Netflix. The for IC Champion is never a bad choice to open any show given how over he is. The crowd’s reaction made the most of this segment. Uso took the mic and addressed the WWE Universe. He declared himself ready to take on the World Heavyweight Champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He made the crowd believe in his words when he said, “I’ve been doubted before, but I’m here to prove everyone wrong. This is my time, my moment.”

Gunther entered the ring as tension between the two very quickly boiled over. Jey stood firm with the deafening roar of the crowd in support of him. The Austrian, obviously upset by the backlash, got close to the challenger’s face. But it turned out to be a bad move. Jey attacked him with an explosive superkick that floored the champion. The challenger raised his fist. He made a statement and proved himself ready to face Gunther.

The segment showcased the former tag champ’s fiery determination. It also sets up a brutal clash between the superstars at Saturday Night’s Main Event. It’s hard to break the World Champion’s dominance but the challenger is over with the crowd and might pull the upset.

Rey Mysterio vs. Kofi Kingston: A Thrilling Clash of Styles

Winner: Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio won with a roll-up. Aside from a requisite amount of Mysterio taunting and the wah-wah sound that accompanies any Kofi Kingston in-ring moment, this was a highly athletic match. One fast-paced sequence (one after which Mysterio was standing on the opposite side of the ring when Kingston hit him with a leaping forearm smash) was so good that my toddler watched it twice.

And the reason Kofi Kingston was close to being the guy who Mysterio beat on his way to potentially beating Seth Rollins in the cell is because he was making a strong case for why he should be a guy not easily beaten. After this match, it might just be a case of Kingston being too easy to beat for a guy as wise and wily as Mysterio.

Bayley vs. Nia Jax: Power Meets Resilience

Winner: Nia Jax

Bayley, now on Raw, displayed an admirable amount of moxie and determination against the far bigger and stronger Jax. On multiple occasions, the Hugger strung together an offense that is, quite frankly, hard to stop. She landed some serious shrimp, including her signature elbow, that served as the high point of her performance and should’ve set her up for the win. But they didn’t, and the match ended with Nia Jax winning via pinfall and Bayley looking like a million bucks.

Penta vs. Pete Dunne: Technical Brilliance and High Impact

Winner: Penta

Penta won by way of Pentadriver. This match was a master class in contrasting styles. Dunne went after Penta’s fingers and joints, viciously manipulating them and forcing Penta to fight with a “don’t move, or else” kind of strategy, which, of course, was the time-honored Big Ol’ Brawler way of things.

Penta, however, retorted, as only he can, with high-impact offense that makes one think of Hart Foundation and 4 Horsemen tag matches in the days of yore. The end came when Penta executed an excellent Pentadriver that showed he can (and might need to) take that move up a level if he wants to be even more consequential in the game.

Damage CTRL vs. Pure Fusion Collective

Winners: Damage CTRL.

The sending-off match witnessed Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL spar against Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. Both erstwhile allies displayed equally excellent teamwork in this contest, with Baszler and Stark establishing an early lead and looking quite good with Baszler’s brutal submissions and Stark’s explosive strikes. Backstage, Damage CTRL celebrated their victory. On the other hand, Baszler and Stark got into a verbal argument, hinting at trouble in their partnership.

Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre

Winner: Seth Rollins

In a main event of WWE RAW that was nothing short of intense, Rollins and McIntyre delivered a match with the kind of hard-hitting, high-stakes quality you could only hope for at this point in the program. And with the story they told, power and might were definitely on display. McIntyre, with such commanding skill and style, set the tone early with pure dominance that had the audience audibly gassing him up. If he were trying to win on simple showmanship and artfulness, he had the crowd admiring him. They were loving the kind of raw power he was doling out.

Bayley’s Announcement

Bayley made shocked the world by announcing her move to WWE Raw, flaunting her trademark confidence in her entrance. It didn’t take her long to demonstrate her will, declaring she was entering the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble. “Her declaration brought major star power to the match as she vowed to outlast 29 other women and earn her place on the grandest stage.

Sami Zayn’s Declaration

In the next segment on WWE RAW, Sami Zayn stepped into the ring and declared he would be entering into the men’s Royal Rumble, as he gave an emotional promo about his career that highlighted the good and the bad. He also shared his resolve to finally prove himself. Things took an interesting turn in a very heartwarming moment when Kevin Owens interrupted. Owens offered his support and forgiveness for their previous betrayals.

CM Punk’s Statement

While explaining why he wanted to prove he was better in the WWE ring, CM Punk said the burning desire to win the Royal Rumble was the only thing missing from his legendary career, not mentioned in a sit down interview. Punk’s attention is solely on the prize, “Winning this Rumble proves I’m the Best in the World.” In an added layer of intrigue, he teased that he will pull a mysterious favor — as well as — and fans are already speculating what it will be.

Upcoming Appearances

Next week’s episode of WWE Raw on Netflix is set to be explosive with the long-awaited debut of Logan Paul, who promised that his first appearance will be one that’s unforgettable. Cody Rhodes is also slated to make his return, as the potential impact of the “American Nightmare” figures to send shockwaves as we approach the Royal Rumble. Also, The War Raiders will put their WWE Tag Team Championship up for grabs against The Judgment Day in a bout that has show-stealing potential.

This week’s Raw brought excitement, drama and high stakes and laid the groundwork for a volatile Royal Rumble season.
