After appearing at the Real American Freestyle event, Michael Chandler feels sure about fighting Conor McGregor. Although, it’s been in debate for a long time if Conor is indeed going to make a UFC return or not. Yet, Chandler seems confident that his Conor McGregor is already in motion. His hints were all about a potential White House card of 2026.
His win over Chad Mendes, the former UFC featherweight contender, in the grappling-only bout is what’s making him feel worthy to go for the Conor McGregor fight. Despite his match having no MMA rules and having nothing to do with his UFC records, he is trying to show how ready he is to fight Conor McGregor. Though he is still waiting to know his future inside the Octagon.

Moreover, irrespective of his recent inactivity in UFC, his name has come with Conor often all because of his interviews and social media appearances. This eventually makes him shown as a strong contender for Conor McGregor. He has uploaded a video on Instagram Stories of his official account.
Why Chandler Still Believes the McGregor Fight Is Coming ?
It’s clearly evident that though there has been no announcement about Chandler and Conor’s match, the former’s belief about it is merely because of his conversations and long-term positioning. Apart from that, UFC hasn’t announced Conor’s return date, but talks of the White House card are keeping the promotions popular. According to Chandler, Conor might fight just once more, and as such, spectacles would be given priority over ranking for that.
Chandler wants event-level fights, and that’s something Conor would be looking for too. His focus on fighting for grappling events along with no title-chasing thoughts indicates he wants just one crucial moment rather than multiple paths.
Meanwhile, currently publicly there’s no such thing happening. We still have to see if McGregor returns or not. Also, we don’t see UFC formalizing the White House card, and Chandler stays patient over the situation. Yet, if we have Chandler confident and visible, he would make sure to keep himself active for the biggest potential fight that UFC can lock in.
