Macaulay Culkin, the Home Alone icon, is evidently a big wrestling fan. Culkin was at the Monday Night RAW Netflix premiere on January 6th this year. He then attended another RAW from MSG in March too. Having such a deep-seated passion for professional wrestling, Macaulay has also confirmed that he isn’t just a casual viewer but a lifelong devotee.

In a recent interview with WIRED, Culkin enthusiastically addressed his fandom. “I love wrestling, are you kidding me?” he remarked, noting that his status as a “well-known” fan. He recalled his fandom with an iconic moment from the Intuit Dome itself. As the cameras focused on him while showing all the celebrities, Culkin was charming enough to give that cool look. It was as loud as the audience could, erupted in a massive “pop,” signaling just how much the community embraces him.

That night Culkin was in the audience to witness the first episode of Monday Night RAW’s premiere on Netflix. He might be there for everyone, but especially had talks with CM Punk, who competed in that night’s main event. Remembering this, he then shared his surprising encounter with the current World Heavyweight Champion on a flight. Punkster was traveling to another RAW taping a few weeks after his Netflix debut, while Culkin found himself on the same flight.

He took the opportunity to wish Punk luck for the show. Whereas Punk’s hilarious response was even humbling. The Chicago-Made star revealed how the professional wrestlers in the locker room viewed Culkin’s recent television appearance. Punk joked that the “boys in the back” found it incredibly funny that a Hollywood actor received a louder crowd reaction with a “bigger pop” than even Roman Reigns.

Macaulay Culkin once shared his three dream matches

Macaulay Culkin’s passion for wrestling extends beyond the front row. He is not someone who enjoys wrestling, but has clear ideas on how he would book a dream card, too, if given the chance. His hypothetical lineup featured legendary matchups between different eras of wrestling.

One of his standout picks is a clash between Shawn Michaels and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. He suggested a ladder match rather than a traditional wrestling bout between these two legends. This might come from the superiority of not touching the greatest technical rivalry of Steamboat and Ric Flair.

For a true “hoss” fight, Culkin imagines Brock Lesnar facing Andre the Giant. While fans have seen Lesnar dominate giants like Big Show, a prime Andre from the 1970s would be thrilling. Culkin created this “what if” scenarios with those two matches and concluded it by bringing in the Best in the World CM Punk.

Culkin envisions a battle of wits and styles between CM Punk and “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Savage was famous for meticulously planning every detail of his matches. Whereas Punk’s deep respect for wrestling history and psychological storytelling would make him go deep too.
