Sean O’Malley with a MMA record of 18-2-0 (1 NC) and former bantamweight will make his comeback to the UFC Octagon in late 2025. His last fight was on UFC 306 where he got defeated by Merab Dvalishvili and lost the UFC Bantamweight title as a result.
As per reports, he is on vacation after undergoing surgery for his injured hip and fans as well as analyst are anticipating his return. O’Malley’s plans for his comeback are dependent on his recovery and UFC’s schedule.
Currently he is working on his comeback as Merab Dvalishvili offered him a title rematch but due to injury he couldn’t compete for that match. Suga underwent surgery for a torn labrum in the hip and the expected recovery time is around 8 to 10 months. However O’Malley mentioned that he might be away for a year as he wants to recovery physically and mentally.
In a recent podcast on his YouTube channel, Sean O’Malley stated:
“Next three months I’m going to be able to recover and I think I’m gonna be able to start like actually training late December, early January and be back 2026….I want to fight.”
