This article feature UFC 311 Results and Highlights from the main card along with performance of the night winners. UFC 311 was a wild show which was live this Saturday on 18th January, 2025 from the Intuit Dome, in Inglewood, California. The show was packed with non-stop action which had two title fights on the card. The champions had a strong showing and overcame their challengers in style. Along with the top two fights the fight card featured some great fights from other performers. Check out the results of UFC 311 main card below:

UFC 311 Results and Highlights: Islam Makhachev (C) vs. Renato Moicano

The main event of the UFC 311 match card was for the lightweight title between Islam Makhachev and Renato Moicano. In a match that lasted just one round, the champion dominated his opponent, submitting him in the very first round. The Dagestani was originally supposed to face Arman Tsarukyan in a rematch. But due to a Tsarukyan’s back injury plans were changed and Moicano stepped up. However, the lightweight champion seemed unfazed with the late developments.

Moicano at one stage stunned Makhachev with a combination that send the champion down but the tides changed quickly. The Dagestani took control with his take down and eventually submitted the challenger with a choke at 4:05 of round 1. As the lightweight champion mentioned a small mistake from “Money” cost him. Now with this win, Makhachev is close to breaking Anderson Silva’s record for most consecutive wins in UFC. He further made a statement as the best pound-4-pound fighter in the world.

Co-Main Event: Merab Dvalishvili (C) vs. Umar Nurmagomedov

Merab Dvalishvili faced of his toughest fights as he took on the undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov. The bantamweight title was on the line in the UFC 311 co-main event. The challenger entered the fight as the betting favorite but the champion proved the betters wrong.

Dvalishvili, with his relentless pace and cardio, broke Nurmagomedov’s undefeated streak to the delight of the crowd. The challenger showed great composure and defended multiple takedowns in the first two rounds. However, “The Machine” dictated the pace of the match which proved to be too much for the challenger as he looked exhausted in the final rounds. Dvalishvili was declared the winner via unanimous decision with judges scorecard reading 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46. The champion attacked with multiple takedowns in the fight while breaking George St-Pierre’s previous record for most takedown(91) in UFC history.

Jiri Prochazka defeated Jamahal Hill via knockout (Light-heavyweight bout)

Jiri Prochazka returned to the octagon and delivered a spectacular third-round TKO to Jamahal Hill at 3:01 of the third round. He out-struck and out-moved Hill with his striking exquisiteness. He dominated all three rounds of the fight, reasserting himself as one of the top contenders in the light heavyweight division. After the fight, he challenged Alex Pereira for a third fight between them.

Jailton Almeida def. Serghei Spivac (Heavyweight division)

The fight featured some heavy exchanges between the two heavyweights. Serghei Spivac controlled Almeida on the ground but once they stood up the Brazilian got going. He knocked out Spivac in the first round at 4:53. Almeida came out looking strong by just demolishing Spivac with his brutal punches. His dominant performance earned him another victory, further cementing his place as a rising star. In the post fight interview, Almeida challenged Cirly Gane for a match.

Reinier de Ridder defeated Kevin Holland

Reinier de Ridder demonstrated his impeccable grappling skills by forcing Kevin Holland to submit quickly in the first round. His technique was fast and brilliantly executed, capturing the challenger with a rear-naked choke at 3:31. This would be conclusive evidence for his return as the elite talents amongst the top submission specialists in MMA.

UFC 311 Bonus Awards

The card displayed phenomenal performances from the fighters involved and some performances stole the show. As a result they were gifted with extra paycheck by the UFC. The “Fight of the Night” was rewarded to the bantamweight title fight between Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov which went the distance and had the viewers at the edge of their seats. The champion had a strong showing against a tough challenger.

Jiri Prochazka and Jeilton Almeida’s performances stood out as they earned the “Performance of the Night” bonus. #2 Prochazka knocked out the #3 Jamahal Hill in the third round of the fight, while Almeida did the same to Serghei Spivac in the first round of their fight. Both the fighters were rewarded with $50,000 bonus money for their show stealing victories, which highlighted their skills inside the Octagon.

UFC will now head on to their next big PPV’s along with Fight Night’s. During the show two major matches from UFC 313 match card were announced. In the main event, Alex Pereira will defend his light-heavyweight title against #1 Magomed Ankalaev. On the same night, Justin Gaethje will face Dan Hooker in what looks to be an exciting battle.
