UFC 312: Details About Dricus Du Plessis vs Sean Strickland 2 Headlined Match Card

UFC is returning to Australia on ninth February 2025 with with a major show, UFC 312. The show is headlined by Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland. The event is set to take place at the Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney Olympic Park Australia.

The MMA promotion has advertised two championship matches in the main card up until this writing. The main event will feature Dricus Du Plessis (22-2-0) defending his middleweight title against Sean Strickland (29-6-0) in a rematch. Their first encounter took place at UFC 297. In the closely fought contest, Strickland lost the middleweight crown to Du Plessis via split decision. He then defeated Paulo Costa at UFC 302 to become the contender for the title. Meanwhile, the South African defended his title against Israel Adesanya at UFC 305.

In the co-main event, China’s Zang Weili ( 25-3-0) will put her strawweight title on the line against Tatiana Suarez. In her third title defense, Weili will fight the USA’s undefeated MMA fighter. Suarez’s record stands at a perfect 11-0-0 in MMA. She also has a three inch reach advantage against the champion.

UFC 312 will feature six more matches on the card

UFC has also advertised some more matches for the event. There are three fights which taking place in the preliminary card of UFC 312. Check the list of matches advertised for the show:

  • Tom Nolan (8-1-0) vs Vaicheslav Borschev (8-4-1) – Lightweight bout
  • Jack Jenkins (13-3-0) vs Gabriel Santos (11-2-0) – Featherweight bout
  • Justin Tafa (7-4-0) vs Tallison Teixeira (1-0-0) – Heavyweight bout

There are three matches on the preliminary card featuring India’s Anshul Jubli.

  • Quillan Salkilld (1-0-0) vs Anshul Jubli (7-1-0) – Lightweight bout
  • Rei Tsuruya (10-0-0) vs Stewart Nicoll (8-1-0) – Flyweight bout
  • Jimmy Crute(12-4-1) vs Markin Prachnio (17-8-0) – Light Heavyweight bout

The TKO Group led MMA promotion has not announced Full match card for the event. Dana White and his team will provide more details about the MMA event soon. Currently the company is focused on UFC 311 which will take place on 19th January 2025 from the Intuit Dome, Inglewood United States.
