WWE Dream Matches

WWE fans have been privileged to witness some incredible matches over the years. But if there’s something constant about fans, it is that they always want more. Some matches were on fans’ lists, but unfortunately, never happened. But out of so many such WWE Dream Matches that never happened, which are the ones that make it to our list? Let’s have a look. These WWE Dream Matches continue to trend online and live in fans’ imaginations because they represent a perfect blend of legacy, timing, and pure wrestling passion.

10. TRISH STRATUS VS SASHA BANKS

That faceoff at the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble match was iconic, but fans agree that a singles match between the two legends would have been even better. For a long time, both Sasha Banks (Now Mercedes Mone) and Trish Stratus were looked at as parallels. A feud between the two would have been incredible, and fans would have had a great time.

9. BRET HART VS. KURT ANGLE

Two wrestlers who would feature are almost everyone’s “Greatest wrestlers of all time” list; it’s a shame that this match never happened. Two technical maestros who have done it all, a match of this caliber happens once in year. Even Kurt Angle himself talked about why this match never happened, and his wanting to have this match against the “Best there was, Best there is, Best there ever will be”.

8. DANIEL BRYAN VS. KURT ANGLE

Another match that could have been a timeless technical classic, this is sadly a match fans would never get to see. Both Daniel Bryan and Kurt Angle have had all greats with plenty of wrestlers over their careers, which only makes us imagine how incredible a match between the two would have been.

7. THE ROCK VS SHAWN MICHAELS

Two of the best performers, both in the ring and on the microphone, a feud between the two legends would have been one for the ages. Sadly, this never happened and never will due to various reasons, one of them being real-life heat between the two.

6. JOHN CENA VS. STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN

The MVP of the “Attitude Era” against the MVP of the “PG Era”, a John Cena vs Stone Cold Steve Austin match is something that wrestling fans would sadly never witness. Both Cena and Austin have been crucially integral to the WWE, and it is impossible to imagine the company without the two. Unfortunately, this match never happened.

5. DANIEL BRYAN VS. BRET HART

Just the thought of a match between Daniel Bryan and the “Hitman” gives fans goosebumps, and rightfully so. Two of the best performers ever, the technical greatness that the legends possess is second to none. Just another match that wrestling fans are not lucky enough to witness.

4. AJ STYLES VS SHAWN MICHAELS

When “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles dropped THAT picture on his Twitter, the IWC lost its mind, and rightfully so. Ever since his debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble, if there is one match that fans wanted to see more than anything else, it was Styles vs Michaels. This again goes into the unfortunate bucket of matches that we would never witness.

3. THE UNDERTAKER VS. STING

Nobody expected Sting and the Undertaker to be in the same company ever. From back since the WCW vs WWE days, Sting was never a part of the WWE, until Survivor Series 2014 when he finally made his long awaited debut. Since then, Taker vs Sting was THE dream match fans wanted to see. This could have happened, but unfortunately, never did.

2. CM PUNK VS STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN

Both CM Punk and Stone Cold Steve Austin have expressed their respect and admiration for each other’s work. Two legends with similar attributes and both being at a completely different level on the microphone, just the thought of those promo battles between the two is enough to give fans those goosebumps. From their little interaction on RAW to that interview with Jim Ross, there were signs of this happening at some point, but unfortunately, never did.

1. JOHN CENA VS HULK HOGAN

The two “Faces” of WWE, two of the most important people behind WWE’s success, this match did not happen for various reasons, timing being the main one. Both hit their peaks at very different periods, and a match between Cena and Hogan in their primes was never possible. Nevertheless, everyone can agree that this feud would have been epic and one for the ages. And finally, one of the most discussed WWE Dream Matches of all time—something fans debated for years.
