With WrestleMania 41 approaching, tensions have become palpable within The Judgment Day. The key figure in the fallout has been Finn Balor, whose trust and leadership have been called into question over recent weeks. Once a stabilizing force in The Judgment Day, Balor now finds himself in trouble as tensions begin to mount with his counterpart, Dominik Mysterio. Cracks Within The Judgment Day
From its very beginning, The Judgment Day has proven to be one of WWE’s top factions, consistently stealing the show on Monday Night Raw and providing us with intriguing storylines. Nonetheless, some cracks are starting to show on the group’s foundation. During the Intercontinental Championship match on March 24, 2025 episode of Raw, Dominik Mysterio tried to recruit Penta to The Judgment Day. Unfortunately for Dominik, Penta refused which resulted in him hitting the Dom with a steel chair.
Finn Balor, hurrying to help Dominik, stressed that he wanted to keep the unit intact. Although it illustrated the increasing tension within the faction. There has been a conversation about Balor’s place in the faction. Fans have questioned whether he needs to lead the faction successfully or walk away completely. It might take us into something bigger, something darker.
Why the Demon King Must Return
The Demon King isn’t merely a gimmick; it is an embodiment of Finn Balor’s true intensity and power. The character has had important appearances in his career, where it was a metaphorical switch that fans always welcomed as a dramatic turn.
Sadly, Balor’s last appearance as the Demon King came at WrestleMania 39 against Edge in a Hell in a Cell match. Balor took the loss and his dark persona’s credibility took a hit. With many fans now disillusioned by Balor’s booking and creative activity since, the Demon King should be kept for a grand return.
Returning the Demon King at this point in time would accomplish a few things:

On the other hand, it would also revive The Judgment Day storyline, as the faction is seemingly on the verge of collapsing. That would give WWE a significant, high-stakes storyline heading into WrestleMania 41, one that is built up off of emotion, anger, and character’s respective evolutions.

WWE has started the campaign to bring back the Demon King. Observers noted various clues towards the character’s return on Raw. Notable hints included a backstage photograph of face paint, lighting that resembled Balor’s avatar, and even Balor performing his finishers in character motion. Fans have further prematurely teased the potential for a return with their speculation on social media.
Considering the present direction of the story, WWE could move quickly on this evolution. The creative team could have Balor feeling betrayed by his team members leading him to leave the show in anger. He could leave for a couple weeks then return with full Demon King gear, indicating that he is not under Judgment Day’s guidelines anymore. This could also put him in play as a serious contender in the singles division—perhaps even towards a major match at WrestleMania 41 against new star Bron Breakker.
A WrestleMania Moment in the Making
The timing couldn’t be better. WrestleMania 41 is in need of a couple of impactful stories, and a return of the Demon King would satisfy both. It would not only satisfy long-time fans who have felt Balor is under-utilized in recent years, but it would also create visually stunning segments with high emotion.

Or will he forsake his trust in the Judgment Day family to relive the dark days of the Demon King? WWE has a tremendous opportunity to elevate one of its most dynamic and praised performers and in turn, develop one of its best groups.
As the excitement builds for WrestleMania 41, all attention is now focused on Balor. The darkness has begun to stir, and the fandom is ready to rise. It is time for the return of the Demon King.
