John Cena's Final RAW

It was the last time a Monday Night RAW crowd could’ve seen John Cena wrestle on the red brand. What made it special was the venue, as Madison Square Garden hosted the banger show. In his final appearance on RAW, Cena delivered an emotional promo. With teary eyes, he acknowledged the fans who chanted “Thank you Cena” at MSG. However, his high-profile final segment was bummed by Dominik Mysterio’s interference, followed by a six-man tag team match at MSG.

Mysterio criticized Cena’s recent Intercontinental Championship title shot. Dominik then challenged John for his Intercontinental Championship. Cena initially suggested they fight at MSG, but Mysterio successfully countered. He asked for the match to take place in his “backyard” in San Diego at Survivor Series next weekend. Cena accepted the challenge: “Your rematch in your backyard at Survivor Series on ESPN? San Diego, California? You and me, for the Intercontinental Championship? No problem. I accept.”

The confrontation quickly turned physical when Mysterio’s Judgment Day stablemates, JD McDonagh and Finn Balor, entered the ring and attacked Cena. Sheamus rushed in to save Cena, followed by Rey Mysterio. Capitalizing on the situation, Cena immediately challenged the trio to an impromptu Six-Man Tag Team match. Cena, Mysterio, and Sheamus went on to defeat Dom, JD and Finn.

Cena now only has two appearances left. His penultimate match at Survivor Series is scheduled against “Dirty” Dom in San Diego. His last opponent is yet to be determined with the ongoing ‘Last Time Is Now’ tournament. Whereas the last time match is scheduled for Sunday, December 13, at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

A ghost from John Cena’s past wrestled on RAW after 2 years

It was kept a secret until the ‘Here to show the World’ theme song hit. Entering the Last Time is Now tournament as a mystery opponent for Solo Sikoa was Dolph Ziggler. The Showoff made his RAW return after 2 years, and quite a special one at Madison Square Garden. The crowd was electric and showered one of the loudest pops of the night on Ziggler.

Dolph, who now goes by the name Nic Nemeth, wrestles on TNA and some independent promotions. Dolph’s last match in WWE was back in May 2023 when he wrestled JD McDonagh on RAW. But now, as a one-off bout, he came back to face Sikoa and continue impressing the WWE Universe in the same style. However, he could not capitalize on this one-off return and faced defeat from the MFT leader.

The former Intercontinental Champion was eyeing to be Cena’s last opponent, but fumbled on the very first step. Another first-round match that happened on the RAW in MSG was Gunther vs. Je’Von Evans. The NXT superstar showcased his skills against the former World Heavyweight Champion but failed to win the bout. It will be exciting to see how the tournament proceeds, leading to Saturday Night’s Main Event.
