Miro’s WWE Comeback: Speculation Grows as Rusev Teases Return Ahead of WrestleMania 41

Miro, previously known as Rusev, could be making a comeback to WWE in the near future. His last appearance was in April 2020 and almost after 5 years we could witness his return with a new stage name as Miro. No signs of his appearance in the WrestleMania 41 but probably at the end of the year WWE creators are trying to get Miro back to the roster.

Creative Conversations: During meetings, WWE shows positive reports and can work on the idea of re-signing Rusev. Miro’s was let go from his AEW contract as the creative team wasn’t able to execute the best which led to struggle. There were some issues with the creative team at AEW since his release in 2024.

Potential Timing: WWE really has interest to include Rusev but not immediately. As we saw multiple times WWE included top superstars from other promotions in the roster. But with Miro they don’t need to rush and we didn’t have any signs or hints about his return. There are whispers that we can witness his appearance in the fall or summer.

WrestleMania 41: From a different perspective and reports, WWE could introduce him at WrestleMania 41. WWE could rebuild his storyline with Braun Strowman before WrestleMania and  develop Miro’s backstory and popularity for WWE.

CJ Perry’s Involvement: Miro and CJ Perry, Popularly known as Rusuv and Lana while in WWE could join the company together. The couple recently reconciled after breking up their seven year relationship. As a result, negotiations can be made but still if he returns to WWE, Perry’s role will be questionable.

Trend of former AEW stars joining WWE: After being inactive from wrestling he returned to in-ring action at a Qatar Pro Wrestling event, facing AAA Mega Champion Alberto Del Río. Speculations were made on his return to WWE. Not only Miro but Malakai Black, also known as Aleister Black, can also appear in WWE after their exit from AEW. However, when the returns would take place is a question.

Even though we are yet to get confirmation about Rusev’s return, we are likely to get an update soon. Given the current situation of the main roster, the Bulgarian Brute should be headed to NXT.

Rusev aka Miro should join NXT upon potential return to WWE

Having a less-than-perfect AEW tenure and being away from wrestling for such a long time, NXT is the best option for his potential growth. In NXT he could shape his personality and re-establish himself. As we also witnessed, many NXT players reached the top heights in WWE as a part of engaging storylines.

Returning to NXT could help Rusev set off interesting rivalries with young talent. He can develop his character and revive his image among the audience by featuring in engaging matches against young superstars like Oba Femi.

Restablishing one’s momentum

We didn’t witness Rusev being a part of a big storyline in WWE and his talent was overshadowed by main roster talents. The Bulgarian can grow his profile in NXT as Ricky Starks, who built his fanbase in the brand.

Public Connection: Rusev formerly was quite popular in WWE, especially with the “Rusev Day” stint. Accompanied by CJ Perry, known as Lana in WWE is the highlight of his WWE career. Joining NXT enables him to work on the buildup for his foundation and he can later join the main roster.

Possible narrative arcs

Feuds and Alliances: Rusev’s persona completely takes him in different storylines on NXT. A feud with rising stars like Oba Femi or Trick Williams would be great. He can also form an alliance with young stars which would be beneficial for their growth.

Demonstration of Abilities: With NXT focusing on wrestling quality, Rusev can prove his talent among the best superstars and re-establish himself as a top-notch wrestler.

Rusev could overall develop himself and excel in NXT wrestling. His experience and skills will help him to channel his character growth and slowly can be back to the main roster.
