WWE’s first televised show of 2025 is all set to kickstart the promotion’s path to WrestleMania 41. With the highly speculated return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, fans are likely to get a clear picture about The Brahma Bull facing Roman Reigns at WreslteMania 41.
Roman Reigns vs The Rock is one of the most highly speculated match for the “Show of Shows” in 2025. Reigns will feature on RAW’s first episode on Netflix. The Triple H led creative team is all set to make RAW on Netflix a memorable show with major matches already advertised. One of them includes the “OTC” facing Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat. The winner of the match will be declared as the Tribal Chief and will claim the Ula Fala. As per WrestleVotes’ recent edition of Backstage Q&A, The Great One is set to make a surprise return at WWE RAW on Netflix.
Since his return to WWE at SummerSlam 2024, Reigns has feuded with Sikoa. The OTC will be able to regain his position as the top guy of the company if he beats the new Tribal Chief. The Brahma Bull on the other hand made a one off return at WWE Bad Blood 2024. The Rock’s involvement during or after Reigns’ match on 6th January can plant the seeds for their rumored WrestleMania 41 showdown.
WWE did try to make the match happen at WrestleMania 40 but the plans were changed due to fans’ backlash. Reigns then went on to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 where the latter dethroned the former to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. This time though Triple H and his team can book things correctly to set up the mega-match at the “Show of Shows” in 2025.
The Final Boss vs Roman Reigns is a big feud if booked properly
The Rock and the OTC were involved in a feud with Cody Rhodes. Reigns then joined hands with Rhodes to beat Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu of the new Bloodline at Bad Blood 2024. The Final Boss then made a return before the show went off air. But the events took place a few months ago at Bad Blood. So WWE can feature the Rock before or after the Bloodline rules match mentioned above. The TKO Group owned company can then have the Rock return as the Final Boss. In his promo, the Final Boss can explain the motive behind his return.
The Hollywood star can also help Reigns in his quest to become the Tribal Chief. The two can then feature is segments leading to a break-up either due to clash of egos or some other reason. The Final Boss as a heel and OTC as a babyface would be an epic feud. It will elevate Reigns to a whole new level. Some superstars like Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens can also be used in the feud.
In a different booking, WWE can have The Great One dethrone Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion. The match can very well main event Royal Rumble 2025. Reigns can then go on to win the men’s Royal Rumble match the same night. This will be a simple but risky booking where the OTC can face The Rock. Considering last year’s backlash Triple H might not consider this option. If WWE goes that way, fans might get disappointed again.
Either way, WWE RAW on Netflix is set to open the road for bigger moments in 2025. Whether the show, set to feature on 6th January, will feature the Rock or not remains to be seen.
