Conor McGregor made headlines when he posted pics with Paul brothers recently before they attended President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. Before their interaction Logan Paul and McGregor were in the new for a potential exhibition bout between the two in India. There were no developments in the supposed $500 million exhibition fight.
McGregor has now given an update as to why the fight did not go forward. In a recent interview with “The Schmo” McGregor put the blame on the UFC for not letting the fight happen. He mentioned that it made perfect sense for the fight to happen as there was a lot of waiting time before “The Mystic Mac” returned to the octagon. Unaware about WWE’s stance on the matter regarding Logan Paul’s participation, the Irishman made it clear that the UFC did not let that happen.
“The UFC just aren’t into it. The offer was there on the table, in writing. But both athlete are under the TKO banner. UFC, WWE both rising up. The stock price of TKO Holding Ground through the roof. New market in India opened up and booming. It was business savvy, and business sense to make the fight happen. In between this waiting period that we find ourselves in before I can get back to the octagon, it made perfect sense on the calendar to go ahead with it. The UFC weren’t into it. The WWE, I’m not sure what their interest in it was. I just knew the UFC weren’t into it,” McGregor stated. [H/T MMA Junkie]

Conor McGregor also went on to praise the two Paul brothers and KSI for the revenue they generate through their bouts via their participation. McGregor remains optimistic to face one of the three influencers and make more money out of them.
Conor McGregor might return to the UFC octagon in November 2025
Dana White had earlier stated that the first UFC double champ’s return will happen in the fall of 2025. Adding more fuel to that statement McGrgeor was also quoted as supporting that claim.
In a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s vlog, McGrgeor was seen trading verbal jabs with the Paul brothers. While McGrgeor called them mere side-kicks, Paul mocked McGregor for not getting to fight in UFC.
McGrgeor was quick to respond and asked Logan to keep an eye on November, hinting at a comeback.
What Conor McGregor’s Return Means for the UFC
McGregor’s return will be huge not only for his fans but also for the UFC. Eventually his return will boost the ticket sales and a spike in viewership will automatically be in the favor of UFC. McGregor knows how to seek the attention of the audience, by his electrifying personality and fighting style he always grabs and binds the audience with him.
His bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018 was the all time highest-selling PPV for UFC and who knows if he returns that number may surpass or equalize that PPV sales.
