Early Life and Background
In his younger years Magomedov was into football. But after he got kicked out of the team after an argument he switched to combat sports. He started with boxing and was quite successful and then moved to Moscow where he started to embrace Muay Thai. In Muay Thai he flourished and became Russian Muay Thai Champion and had an 18-2 record.
In the beginning of his career while training in Thailand he got a serious eye injury. Despite multiple surgeries he lost sight in one eye. He has talked about this and cites former UFC champion Michael Bisping, who also fought with one eye, as a big source of inspiration.

Sharaputdin Magomedov from Dagestan, Russia speaks Russian but probably knows some local Dagestani dialects. He spent some time in China for fight promotions in 2017 and 2018 so he might know a few phrases. But he never spoke any Chinese dialect.
