Visionary’s Counsel: Paul Heyman’s Betraying Roman Reigns And CM Punk Could Elevate Seth Rollins

The Visionary's New Ally: How Paul Heyman’s Betrayal of Reigns and Punk Could Elevate Seth Rollins

What if the most startling betrayal in current wrestling history is not what we anticipate? In 2020, Roman Reign and Paul Heyman became a part of a storyline in WWE and the latter portrayed his character as “Special Counsel”.

Company of Heyman helped Reigns to build a strong foundation of his heel turn narrative and The Bloodline. However, fans and statistics are anticipating a possible reunion between Heyman and CM Punk. Whereas, as per other theory suggests how Paul Heyman’s alliance with Rollins will give a good angle for WWE’s narrative.

Roman Reigns – Paul Heyman’s Current Dynamic

Along with Paul Hayman, The OTC has emerged as a powerful character in WWE history. The Bloodline bloomed and Reigns transformed himself as a powerful heel character in WWE. However, recent events suggest some breach between them as it depicts that the Tribal Chief no longer needs the assistance of Heman and is capable enough to capitalise the character on his own.

The Wiseman’s interaction with his old friend CM Punk and the recent events highlights growing tension between Reigns and Heyman. This increasing distance seems to imply a possible betrayal in the future.

Seth Rollins: The Ideal Candidate

Seth Rollins, known as “The Visionary,” has continually evolved himself throughout his wrestling career. In an interview, he emphasised to be unique, by stating:

“I don’t want to be the one who imitates what others are doing successfully.”

Paul Heyman, distancing himself from The OTC, could eventually side with Rollins as his next ally. In addition, Heyman could lift Rollins’ character as he did for Reigns and Brock Lesner. So, under Heyman’s direction, Rollins might become a turbulent power that could rival Reigns’ sovereignty from the top.

The Alliance’s Logic

Heyman benefits in several ways from aligning with Rollins Agenda:

Character Development: Having the ECW founder backing the Architect is enough to bloom his character in the WWE. Heyman’s knowledge and his mentoring experience could greatly  improve Rollins’ character development and in-ring presence. The alliance would be shocking for the audience and led to a long-term arc. WWE could develop many storylines using this partnership.

We already witnessed Rollins’ legendary betrayal where he left The Shield. Now Heyman’s betrayal in support of Rollins would increase the viewership of WWE and eventually increase the buzz in the WWE community.

An association with the Visionary might therefore revolutionise WWE’s story telling scene given Paul Heyman’s gift for generating interesting narratives.

In opposition to the CM Punk Theory

Although there is much speculation about a Punk-Heyman reunion, teaming up with Rollins might be artistically more satisfying. Also, currently we didn’t see any interest from WWE creative team for Punk/Heyman collaboration and the main drawback is the occasional appearance of Punk in the WWE. On the other hand, from the long term perspective, Rollins fits the idea and could catch viewers as well as maintain the smooth flow of the storyline.

Possible narratives and conflicts

The partnership between The Visionary and the Wiseman might create many events obstructing Reigns’ domination:

Rollins and Heyman’s alliance will not only obstruct the OTC’s dominance but also reignite the past rivalries and further could lead to new elements inside the Bloodline.

Surely Heyman’s new partnership with any other superstar will impact the Bloodline and might be we could witness the fall of Bloodline.

In short, fans are speculating CM Punk’s reunion with Paul Heyman. But from long-term storyline perspective a stable arc partnership between Seth Rollins and Heyman offers much more and could meet the requirements of the storyline.
