IShowSpeed was among the guests present backstage at Royal Rumble 2025 after being personally invited by Triple H. The renowned YouTuber and streamer had an exciting and unexpected encounter with John Cena, which quickly became viral.
In what could be described as a comical yet embarrassing moment, Speed completely insensibly overlooked Cena, feigning not to see him right in front. The whole situation ended up to be funny and yet, the 16-time world champion was also visually frustrated. But it was a common and enjoyed backstage moment for the fans that no one could stop talking about.
IShowSpeed, who was making a vlog for his YouTube channel “IShowSpeed” documenting his backstage jumping at the event, was filming. Speed explored his creativity by going around the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, and meeting different WWE superstars. The movie’s plot totally grasped the audience’s attention and became popular when IShowSpeed goofed around with John Cena. While Speed was walking into the room, he seemed oblivious to Cena’s presence making fans think if he was playing for them or was truly unaware of it. The video was uploaded a day ago.
IShowSpeed burst into the room, all pumped up and directly asking everyone where John Cena was. Actually, Cena was just there in front of him, face to face. The action figure John Cena even attempted to make himself visible by getting closer to Speed as the latter continued to ask others where John Cena might be. The absence of awareness by the wrestler was not only the main humorous part but also the most puzzling for the gaming pro. It was the combination of Speed’s timing and Cena’s irritation that resulted in the memorable backstage segment that kept fans laughing.
John Cena’s famous catchphrase, “You Can’t See Me,” became the centerpiece of the incident. IShowSpeed was still on the lookout for John Cena and barged into a different room location. He stood there in front of him, the 16-time world champion looking for a way to catch Speed’s attention. Owing to the fact that Speed was preoccupied with other things, he just went around and paid no attention to Cena.
Some other WWE staff who watched the whole incident seemed to be entertained and hence Cena’s frustration escalated. Whether Speed was trying to play the fool with innocuous behavior or whether the two were simply on different pages, the situation went even further with Cena winding his hands back and forth to try and break through Speed’s cover of ignorance, but the streamer’s charade was a good laugh as he cleverly avoided Cena’s sight.
The social media celebrity interacted with several WWE superstars, not only The Miz, but also Charlotte Flair, Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, Logan Paul, and Stephanie McMahon while being in the backstage area. However, what would be remembered forever was his electrifying entrance into the Royal Rumble 2025 contest. The audience was amazed to see Speed coming in the middle of the ring because they had never imagined him doing that, which ultimately led to him being the biggest topic of the event.
IShowSpeed entered Royal Rumble 2025 after Triple H replaced Akira Tozawa
It was backstage at Royal Rumble 2025 when Stephanie McMahon and IShowSpeed were engaged in a fruitful conversation in the Gorilla position. They were talking about various subject matters related to WWE. But their conversation was abruptly cut short when they saw Akira Tozawa being attacked by Carmelo Hayes just outside the room.
The abrupt assault came off as a shock to everyone given that Tozawa was supposed to compete in the Royal Rumble match. Even though security immediately sprang into action, the damage was already done which demanded WWE authorities to make changes to their plans for the night momentarily.
When the injured Tozawa was brought to the Gorilla position, WWE‘s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, hurriedly searched for a last-minute replacement. Realizing that time was not on their side, he had no other option than to summon IShowSpeed, who was taken aback by the sudden opportunity.
In spite of a lack of wrestling proficiency, Speed had no other choice but to take the gamble. After some moment of hesitation, however, Triple H officially dispatched him as Tozawa’s substitute. Hence the CCO made Speed a somewhat surprising participant in the Royal Rumble 2025 match to the crowd’s annoyance.
In the ring, IShowSpeed did something that absolutely no one thought was possible, he eliminated Otis proving that he is not here just for fun. That success, however, was short-lived when Bron Breakker launched a devastating spear that caused Speed to fly to the ground. Speed was eliminated soon after that which was the end of his WWE debut in a very dramatic way.
As he was taken backstage, the streamer who was clearly very tired and overwhelmed sighed and said, “I will never come back to WWE.” His ultra-unexpected entry to WWE and super amusing reaction made him one of the night’s biggest talking points.
