Snoop Dogg remains one of the rare celebrities with an undefeated record at WrestleMania. He surprisingly secured a victory over The Miz in an impromptu match at WrestleMania 39. As the show’s hosts, Miz and Snoop were present there to do their hosting jobs. However, the wrestler got the nerves of the celebrity and resulted in a total chaos. Dogg changed the mood by bringing in a challenge to Miz in the returning form of Shane McMahon.

The match was quickly made official, and Shane started with his punches. However, in the very next minute, McMahon suffered a severe injury, tearing both quadriceps, landing awkwardly from a leap frog. This real injury forced an immediate pivot to keep the show seamless. On The Rich Eisen Show, The A-Lister recounted this very chaotic moment from WrestleMania 39. Dressed in a $10,000 suit, he accepted McMahon’s challenge, but the injury derailed their plans.

With the camera focused on Miz to avoid showing McMahon’s condition, he discreetly communicated with the referee, instructing the production team to adapt on the fly. He suggested playing someone’s entrance music to shift focus and proposed that Snoop Dogg attack him to fill the time. Snoop, not originally part of the match, seized the moment. He delivered a surprise punch to The Miz!

Snoop Dogg replaced Shane McMahon against The Miz

The Miz encouraged a second blow to sell the moment convincingly, knowing a single punch wouldn’t suffice for his veteran persona. Snoop then dropped The Miz with his signature “Snoop Elbow” and pinned him for an impromptu 1-2-3 count, despite not being an official competitor. This showed how Dogg quickly adapted to the situation and gave the fans what they wanted (see Miz lose).

The two-time Grand Slam champion praised Snoop’s professionalism, noting that despite lacking wrestling training, he delivered a solid, believable punch that looked great on camera. He described Snoop as a “consummate pro,” trustworthy in high-pressure situations, making the moment iconic. At the Grandest Stage of Them All, the quick thinking of everyone involved ensured that the segment went smoothly without openly exposing McMahon’s injury. Plus, adding to the charisma of Snoop.

Snoop Dogg later returned at WrestleMania XL, cementing his WWE legacy. He was the guest commentator for a street fight featuring The Final Testament against The Pride.
