The Royal Rumble 2025 is set to take place on Saturday February 1, 2025 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, marking the beginning of one of WWE’s most exciting periods. The Road to WrestleMania is officially on, as two competitors will book their tickets to the world championship main events of the grandest stage of them all. One Superstar will punch his ticket to WrestleMania glory by winning the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, and another will do the same by winning the Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
The two marquee matches are known for their shocking returns, surprising debuts and exhilarating surprises every year. The Women’s match is expected to delivery multiple surprise entrances as former champions look set to make their return. Upon making her debut she formed a tag team with Bianca Belair and the two went on to become the Women’s tag team champions on two occasions. At Survivor Series 2024, Cargill was found injured on a car windshield due to an attack backstage by someone. She has been highly anticipated by fans for her return and the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble provides a perfect opportunity for the same.
A strong return in the Royal Rumble would instantly create interesting matchups, be it against Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi or Charlotte Flair. If she emerges from the Rumble and wreaks havoc in the ring, the hype of her return match would be at a fever pitch. Britt Baker making her way into a WWE ring would be one of the most surprising moments in the Women’s Royal Rumble history. The AEW star has established herself as one of the top female wrestlers today, and a surprise entry would signal an extraordinary crossover between WWE and AEW.

One of the biggest dream returns possible would be AJ Lee stepping back into a WWE ring – and the Royal Rumble would be the perfect stage for it. Widely regarded as one of the best female wrestlers in WWE history, the former three-time Divas Champion had a major hand in helping shape the modern Women’s Division before retiring in 2015.
Fans have been clamoring for her to make a comeback ever since, especially with her husband CM Punk also returning to the WWE. Her return always felt like a long shot, with Punk in WWE, it seems like the whole thing is back on the menu. If you close your eyes and envision her entrance music “Light It Up” playing as she struts into the building, the place will lose its mind.
That’s why it would be pretty crazy if she comes in and eliminates a top competitor or won the whole thing, setting up an epic road to WrestleMania for her.
